Brazoswood Jazz Students Earn Region Honors

The TMEA Region XVII All-Region Jazz Band tryouts were held, virtually, with over 60 students from around the Region auditioning for one a spot in the All-Region Jazz Bands. This year, students from Brazoswood High School received 13 of those spots – the most of any school in Region 17.

Students who were awarded with All-Region honors are: Rory Duncanson (piano), Raul Marquez (drums), Leelan Jackson (drums), Kristen McKenney (tenor sax), Julian Moreno (bari sax), Austin Morrow (alto sax), and Caleb Powell (trombone).

In addition to receiving All-Region Honors, these students were also recognized at the area level, with the opportunity to compete for a spot in the All-State Jazz Band: Connor Holt (alto sax), Jeremiah Johnson (trombone), Jacob Markham (trumpet), Matthew Pulido (trumpet) Bryton Sanabria (trombone), and Graysen Winters (trumpet).
