She is an active member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators, organizations that support leadership and advancement for women in education. Cheryl has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including BISD Principal of the Year for 2024–2025, TASSP Assistant Principal of the Year for 2022–2023, and BISD Assistant Principal of the Year in both 2018–2019 and 2015–2016. Under her leadership, schools have received the Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School Award from 2020 to 2023 and the Jostens Renaissance Silver and Gold Campus Awards for 2024–2025 and 2025-2026 respectively. 

Cheryl has also presented on key topics in education, such as building positive school culture and collaborative master scheduling, reflecting her commitment to continuous improvement in schools. She has also served on several TASSP committees and advocates for public schools and students at the state level. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys attending sporting events, watching college football, reading, and traveling with her family.

Deeply passionate about preparing students for the future, Cheryl has volunteered with Junior Achievement for over seven years, helping students develop financial literacy and career readiness skills. She encourages young people to take full advantage of programs like JA to become future-ready and financially responsible. She was recognized at the Business Hall of Fame banquet for the Outstanding Educator of the Year Award in 2026.  Cheryl’s dedication to education and community continues to inspire those around her. 

Mrs. Hicks serves as an Assistant Principal at Brazoswood High School. She brings more than 15 years of experience in education, along with over 20 years of leadership and emergency response experience. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.

Mrs. Hicks is passionate about building strong relationships, supporting teachers and students, and creating a safe, positive school environment where every student can thrive. She believes in leading with consistency, compassion, accountability, and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential.

Mrs. Amy Mancano begins her 16th year in education, bringing a diverse background in classroom instruction, curriculum leadership, and campus administration to her role as Assistant Principal of Special Services at Brazoswood High School.

Her career in education began in Crowley ISD, where she discovered her passion for teaching science. She continued serving students and developing her instructional expertise in both Burleson ISD and Joshua ISD. Her experience later expanded beyond the classroom when she served as a District Science Content and Curriculum Coordinator for a DFW-area charter district, supporting teachers and helping shape science curriculum and instruction across multiple campuses.

Most recently, Mrs. Mancano spent three years as an Assistant Principal at Lake Jackson Intermediate in Brazosport ISD. During her time at LJI, she strengthened her skills in instructional leadership, student support, campus operations, staff development, and special programs. Those experiences helped prepare her for the next chapter of her leadership journey as the Assistant Principal of Special Services at Brazoswood High School, where she supports Special Education and Section 504 services while working alongside staff, students, and families to ensure students have the resources and opportunities they need to be successful.

Mrs. Mancano earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida and her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Christian University.

Beyond her professional role, Mrs. Mancano values time with her family. She and her husband, Jim, are proud parents of three accomplished adults, and one of her greatest joys is being Grammy to five precious granddaughters.
