Brazoswood Track & Field Athletes Qualify for Area
At the District 24- 6A Track and Field Meet Thursday April 1st at Dickinson High School, seven members of the Buc and Lady Buc Track and Field Team punched their ticket to Area. The top 4 in each event qualified to move on to the Area meet at The Rig in Pearland on April 15, 2021.
Maya Funk took first place in the 3,200 meter race and fourth in the 1,600 meter competition.
Brooklyn Baker and Joslyn Garza placed second in the triple jump and discus respectively.
Brooklyn also qualified in the long jump with a fourth place medal.
Sam Whitmarsh came in first place in the 800 meter and teammate Charlie Patton in the 3,200 meter.
Jacob Markham was third in the pole vault and Dominic Escamilla was fourth in the discus.
Other athletes scoring points for their team were Hannah Herns and Dijon James.
As a team, both boys and girls placed sixth in District.
