Lady Bucs Soccer Team Wins Big in Preseason Tournaments
The pre-season tournament schedule was impressive for the Brazoswood Girls Soccer Team as was their end of preseason record of 8-1-2. The Lady Bucs began 2019 ranked #7 in their region; and with the impressive victories over traditionally outstanding teams, start the regular season with a #2 ranking in their highly competitive region.
The Houston Cup was the first tournament in January where the Lady Bucs tied two other ranked opponents. The team tied the Cinco Ranch team (1-1) who represented this region at the state tournament in 2018.
The I-10 Shootout, one of the top tournaments in the state of Texas, was the next weekend. Brazoswood was put in the toughest bracket of the tournament which included Houston Memorial, 2018 defending state champs. The Lady Bucs beat Ridge Point (1-0), tied McAllen (1-1) before losing in penalty kicks and beat Bellaire (1-0).
Last weekend at the CCISD Tournament, the team went 3-0 against North Shore, Clear Lake and Clear Falls!
