Brazoswood FFA Students Take First in Radio Broadcasting Competition
On Saturday November 13th the Brazoswood FFA members participated in our annual District FFA Leadership Development Events. These events allow students to show off their leadership skills in various public speaking competitions, such as FFA Radio Broadcasting. FFA Radio Broadcasting is an event where Agriculture students work together to write a radio podcast about a local agricultural topic.
Three of our Brazoswood FFA members Amalee Frey, Paige Groves and Lindsey Matula competed in this year's Southwest District FFA Radio broadcasting competition. These young ladies got together and put in many hours of research to write their own radio script about Infectious Livestock Diseases. They practiced several times a week leading up to the contest date. On the day of the contest their hard work paid off when they placed 1st, which advanced them to the Area 3 FFA contest on Thursday November 18th at the Berry Center in Cypress, TX.
