The Dow Chemical Company has job opportunities for Instrument Electrical Apprentices located in Freeport, TX. and for Process Technician Apprentices located in the Oyster Creek site at Texas Operations

Instrument Electrical Technicians install, maintain and repair the measuring and control instruments used in industrial processing. They work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition to support the process plants

Experienced Process Operators operate equipment in assigned areas of the plant and perform operations related activities per the work process. They utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner.

Apprentices will participate in a 3 year company-paid program and will report to an Apprenticeship Program Technical Leader / Trainer who will support the Apprentice throughout the apprenticeship program. Through a combination of technical learning at a community college and on-the-job training at our chemical plants, Apprentices will acquire comprehensive expert knowledge and experience in the Instrument field or the Process Operations field.. During the program, Apprentices will be offered paid tuition, wages and some benefits. Upon successful completion of the program, Apprentices will have earned an Associate’s Degree. Apprentices who successfully complete the program will also be highly considered for a job within the company.

Attached is a flyer that gives an overview of the program. These openings are currently posted on  https://www.dow.com/en-us/careers and will be open for about two more weeks and interviews of selected candidates will take place during March and April. The hire date for those selected will be mid to late summer, in time for registration for classes at Brazosport College.

Please contact Marcus Rabren or myself (Jack Richmond) if you have any questions regarding the positions or the application process.

Regards,

Jack
