Here are the criteria to earn an exemption!
SEMESTER GRADE AVERAGE: 80-100
ABSENCES: No more than 3 absences
● Field Trips do not count against the student’s total.
● Exemptions are based on the average of the 1st nine weeks grade average and through the 2nd
progress report of the second grading period. This average must be maintained through the day
of the exam.
● Students eligible for exemptions may choose to take the exam and have the exam grade count
as 15% of the semester grade. However, if the exam lowers the semester grade, it will not be
used.
● Students who have been assigned to Out of School Suspension (OSS) or Alternative will
not be eligible for exemptions. Students assigned to ISS 3 or more days are ineligible.
● The classroom teacher’s attendance records will be used to determine your exemption status in
that class.
● Students in grades 11th and 12th are eligible up to 3 fall and 3 spring semester exam
exemptions
● Students in grades 9th and 10th are eligible for up to 2 fall and 2 spring semester exam
exemptions
