Congratulations to the Brazoswood Winterguard team. On March 19th at Pearland High School the group competed in the Area South Contest against 6 other teams for a spot at the State competition. The top four highest scoring teams advanced, and the Brazoswood Winterguard team placed second solidifying their spot to compete at the State competition!

The title of the show is “Salem’s Secret” and it is a show that details the moments that many puritans (mainly women) felt as they were being accused of witchcraft, unjustly convicted, and met their demise. Through the show the group tries to showcase the despair, fear, anger and resentment felt by the puritans.

For the competition, each group is judged using five different categories: Equipment, Movement, Design Analysis and General Effect. Brazoswood had the second highest total score and won both the Equipment and Movement categories.

The State competition will be held March 26th at Texas A&M University in the Reed Arena where they will compete against 13 other groups. Director Theo Harrison stated "I am extremely proud of the hard work that these students have put in this season".
