Brazoswood High School Announces Two All-State Artist Winners
This year both student artists from Brazoswood High that advanced their artwork to the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) earned all-state recognition. Junior Lilly Cole was awarded the Gold Seal for her “Glass Half Full” entry and Senior Connor Pierce received the Jim Henderson Memorial Scholarship Award for his “Facelift 2120” sculpture.
Gold Seal artworks are selected from the entries that have earned state designation. The state jury panel selects Gold Seal winners from those artworks receiving an Exemplary Rating (IV) at the State Event. Only 150 pieces are selected from the entire state of Texas and the Gold Seal artworks will be displayed in a traveling exhibit through the Fall 2021.
The Jim Henderson Memorial Scholarship was named for the “Founding Father” of VASE and 6 scholarship winners are selected each year by his family in his honor.
