This past weekend Brazoswood Robotics competed at the FTC Robotics League Championship at Palacios High School. They did an incredible job of earning several top engineering awards and winning 1st place in the competition!  Winning ANY of these awards is amazing and our team's’ hard work has paid off. We appreciate all the support we have received this year from our school, our mentors, and our community. Brazoswood Robotics will be advancing to Regionals, held February 23, at San Jacinto College.

Inspire Award 1st place

The Inspire Award is the top honor at FTC Robotics competitions. The Team that receives this award is a strong ambassador for FIRST programs and a role model FIRST Team. This Team is a top contender for many other judged awards and is a gracious competitor. Brazoswood Robotics actively helped opponents by loaning out equipment and offering expertise in the spirit of “coopertition”.

Winning Alliance Captain

By having a successful season in our league, Brazoswood Robotics qualified for the league playoffs. Brazoswood along with our alliance partner advanced through semi-finals on to finals where we faced the top two ranked teams in our league. In the best 2 out of 3, Brazoswood emerged victorious in the final match. We edged out the competition by just 15 points that were scored during the autonomous portion of the match.

Think Award 2nd place

This judged award is given to the Team that best reflects the journey the Team took as they experienced the engineering design process during the build season. The Engineering section of the notebook is the key reference for judges to help identify the most deserving Team. The Team’s Engineering section must focus on the design and build stage of the Team’s Robot. Journal entries must include descriptions of the underlying science and mathematics of the Robot design and game strategies, the designs, redesigns, successes, and opportunities for improvement

Innovate 2nd place

The Rockwell Collins Innovate Award celebrates a Team that thinks outside the box, and has the ingenuity and inventiveness to make their designs come to life. This judged award is given to the Team that has the most innovative and creative Robot design solution to any specific components in the FIRST Tech Challenge game.

Control Award 1st place

The Control Award celebrates a Team that uses sensors and software to increase the Robot’s functionality on the field. This award is given to the Team that demonstrates innovative thinking in the control system to solve game challenges such as autonomous operation, improving mechanical systems with intelligent control, or using sensors to achieve better results on the field.
