Three Brazoswood Students Chosen for Austin Rodeo Auction

Brazosport ISD was well represented last Saturday, January 21st at the Austin Rodeo Youth Western Art Show held at the Bullock Texas State History Museum on the University of Texas campus in Austin, Texas.

Judges looked at over 300 student artwork entries from not just Travis County but around Texas. Three of the chosen selections were our own Brazoswood students. Emily Middleton, Brazoswood Art Teacher reflected, “Only 14 traditional artworks will be auctioned, so competition is fierce!”

The Youth Western Art Show is an exciting competition that enables students to express their creativity in the form of western art, while earning money to put towards their future. Students from Texas grades 9-12 enter their western-inspired artwork in the areas of traditional, photography, digital and sculpture/3D.

The auction will be held during Rodeo Austin on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The works of art created by these student competitors have the potential to go for as much as $5,000 per piece. Congratulations and best of luck to Lindsey Arthur, Camille Matzke, and Elie Bowles.

Lot 8: Lindsey Arthur. 11th Grade.

Lot 9: Camille Matzke. 12th Grade.
