Good Afternoon Parents and Students,

Our word for August and September is Self Direct.   Self Direct:  Setting goals for who you want to be and what you want to do. Then, take steps on your own to get there. We are in the first 9 weeks of the semester. Ask your child, “What goals do you want to achieve for the first 9 weeks of school? What steps will you take to accomplish your goals?”

A Friendly Reminder About Sick Students

Please help us keep our school community healthy by keeping your child home when they are sick. Students should stay home if they have a fever of 100°F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, or are too ill to comfortably participate in the school day. If your child has a suspected contagious illness, please follow recommended guidelines before returning to school. We know it’s not always easy to keep a child home, but allowing them time to rest and recover helps prevent illness from spreading. Thank you for helping us keep our students and staff healthy!

Counselor’s Corner

Mrs. Michaelidis will meet all Senior English classes the week of August 31 to review senior information pertaining to graduation, scholarships, and FAFSA. A video presentation will be linked in the Parent Newsletter #6 on September 4 for your review.

Parent Questions, Concerns, and Conferences

In order to ensure timely communication and action, if there are concerns or questions in your child’s classroom please contact the teacher FIRST.  They will be able to answer your questions and address any of your concerns.  Allow the teacher the opportunity to communicate with you and your student first. If the teacher, student, and parent cannot come to an agreement or resolution, please schedule an appointment with your child’s Assistant Principal and teacher. If you have any questions and/or concerns for Brazoswood Administration, please use this chart and allow the Brazoswood administration the opportunity to communicate with you FIRST before going straight to the superintendent, the JUSTAsk button, district office, and/or social media platforms.  We will respond to emails and parent phone calls during school hours 7:10-3:30.  We appreciate all your cooperation and collaboration as we work together to meet our student needs.  We all want the BEST for each and every student.  Let’s all work together to positively support one another for our students’ success!

🔥 Brazoswood Bonfire Update

Buc Families,

Due to the impending Brazoria County Burn Ban, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Brazoswood Bonfire.

While we are hopeful that the area will receive significant rainfall over the next few days, it is unlikely that there will be enough rain to lift the burn ban. Additionally, under our contract with the City of Clute, building the bonfire over the weekend and then having the burn ban go into effect would result in a significant expense to dismantle and clean up a bonfire that could not be safely burned.

Although we are disappointed that we cannot hold our traditional bonfire, we are excited to offer an alternate celebration for our seniors at Slade Field!

💙💛 Senior Celebration at Slade Field

We will honor our Brazoswood seniors after the subvarsity football games on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Slade Field.

The Project Graduation Committee will provide:

  • 🍿 Refreshments

  • 🎶 A DJ

  • 📸 Great photo opportunities

  • 💙💛 An evening to celebrate our seniors and their Buc Pride!

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as we work to make this a special and memorable experience for the Class of 2027.

🎓 Senior Signs

Seniors may hang their senior signs on the fence surrounding Slade Field September 5–7.

Please remember to:

  • Bring your own zip ties to securely fasten your sign to the fence.

  • Remove all senior signs by Sunday, September 13.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our seniors and make this a memorable time in their high school journey!

Go Bucs! 💙💛
