Brazosports ISD's Career and Technical Education Department will ensure that all children have an appropriate public education available, emphasizing career and technical education designed to meet their career and college-ready goals. To ensure this practice, the department will develop a district plan focusing on higher expectations for student performance, opportunities for staff and teachers to continue to learn and improve instructional practices, and measurable outcomes for continuous evaluation.
Mission
Empower all students to be successful citizens, workers, and leaders in a global economy.
Vision
To develop a district-wide CTE program that is promoted by a coalition of parents, businesses, and community partners to enhance career opportunities for all students
CTE gives students a foundation for career success by integrating rigorous academic content with job-specific technical skills and hands-on learning.
CTE allows students to see the relevance of their academic preparation while participating in educational activities designed to prepare students to gain entry-level employment in high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand occupations or continue their education in a chosen career field.
CTE is organized by a national framework of 16 Career Clusters. Each cluster presents a range of related career options to students, helps them discover their interests, and empowers them to choose the educational pathway that can lead to success in high school, college, and their chosen career.
