Brazoswood High School FFA Senior and Greenhand Quiz teams qualified together for the Area 3 contest on November 15th at the Berry Center in Katy Texas. Both of these two teams have never gone together to Area. These four Greenhands and four Seniors were so humbled to receive their banners and to make Brazoswood FFA history.
The FFA Quiz has three to four members and there are two different categories. Greenhand which consist of first time FFA members and Seniors who are returning FFA members. Both of our Quiz teams have shown dedication and a huge time commitment to learning the quiz components. These components are made up of understanding FFA, agricultural education, current agricultural events, farm facts, and parliamentary procedures. For our Greenhand members, their test is made up of 100 questions while Seniors have 150 questions.
In order for the teams to make it to Area, they have to place top ten in District. Our District contest was last week November 10th and both of our teams qualified! Greenhand Quiz placed 3rd overall with a special recognition to Mia Jones for her high individual score and Preston Bigs for his high individual score. Senior Quiz placed 2nd overall with a special recognition to Katherine Odom for her 2nd place high individual score!
