Five Brazoswood Students Earn Spots in All-State Band and Choir for 2017

We are excited to announce the selection of 4 Brazoswood Band students and 1 Choir student to the Texas Music Educators Association 2017 All-State. Pictured below are Sam Macaraeg, All-State Jazz-Trombone; Joseph Trahan, All-State Band-Bari-Sax, Lyssa Rumsey All-State Choir-Alto, Philip Marshall, All-State Band-French Horn, Nathan Cloeter, All-State Band-French Horn. The honor of All-State is earned by less than three percent of those who try out, with over 63,000 students beginning the audition process.

Most of these students have logged over 100 hours of individual practice.

The students participated in competitive auditions at the District, Region, and Area level to attain All-State Membership, which is the highest honor that a Texas music student can receive. These five students will audition, rehearse and perform with the other All-State musicians under the direction of nationally-known conductors for thousands of attendees at this year’s Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention in San Antonio February 8-11, 2017

Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!
