Counselors worked diligently with each student during the spring semester to create the schedule best suited for each student’s success at Brazoswood High School.  Our goal was to meet individual interests as well as academic needs while preparing their future schedules.  Students were given multiple opportunities throughout the second semester of school to discuss/request any changes they felt were either necessary or beneficial for them until April 30, 2018.  Students were also asked to review their course requests and see a counselor for any specific issues.  If a student did not meet with a counselor or make any specific change request during this time or by the end of the school year, it was understood that they were in agreement with their course requests as it appeared in TEAMS at that time.
During the summer a master schedule was developed, teachers were hired, and class sections were established based on these specific student course requests.

Therefore, schedule changes will be made only for extenuating circumstances to either correct obvious errors, fill in missing courses, remove courses previously completed and replace them with the courses necessary for the student to graduate and / or a change of a UIL activity/sport.

Before schedule change requests will be considered students must take the following steps;

Teacher Change Requests

Please understand that it is the policy of Brazoswood High School to review teacher change requests only if the parent strongly feels that the educational environment is inappropriate for his or her student (Program of Studies).  The following procedure is necessary before any schedule change can be reviewed. Prior to requesting a teacher change, your parent/guardian will need to first contact the teacher and schedule a conference to discuss any issues that may concern you or your parent. The teacher, parent, and student will develop an action and/or intervention plan to address the issues. The teacher will submit the action and/or intervention plan in writing to the student’s AP, Counselor, and Associate Principal.  We will allow the action and/or intervention plan 4-8 weeks to become fully implemented.  If the action and/or intervention plan has not been successful in 4-8 weeks, then you may obtain a schedule change request form in the Counseling Office. Your parent must sign the form and you will submit it to the Counselor’s Clerks in the Counseling office.  The Associate Principal will review your request and make the final decision based on the information gathered pertaining to this particular request as well as the current class sections enrollments at Brazoswood High School for 2018-2019.  You will be notified by phone or email of the final decision.
