Brazoswood Students Earn All-Region Band Honors
Over the last several weeks, students from the Brazoswood Band competed in the TMEA Region XVII Band auditions, competing against nearly 1,000 students from the surrounding area.
Students earning Freshman Region recognition include: Hans Aggarwal, percussion; Wyatt Barrier, trombone; Davin Cai, percussion; Jenna Hawkins, flute; Kristen McKenney, tenor sax; and Christopher Smith, bass trombone.
Those Brazoswood students who earned a spot in the All-District Band were: Avery Mathews, Clarinet; Shannon Smith, Bass Clarinet; Josh Gillis, Bari Saxophone; Zach Rensberger, Horn; Austin Alexander, Horn; Isaiah Lusko, Trombone; Sam Soria, Tuba; Brett Bailes, Tuba; Gabe Deavenport, Percussion; and Lauren Nichols, Percussion.
Those students who placed in the All-Region Band were: Alyssa Poe, Oboe; David Fey, Clarinet, Rebekah Rumsey, Clarinet; Kamryn Scott, Eb Clarinet; Nathan Finley, Alto Sax; Scott Davenport, Alto Sax; Zachary Dobert, Tenor Sax; Keaton Dingee, Bari Sax; Cameron Davies, Trumpet; Garrett Nicholas, Trumpet; Grace Sargent, Trumpet; Jack Lander, Horn; Bo Bartos, Horn; Lyssa Sargent, Horn; Fisher Fugler, Trombone; Esteban Salinas, Bass Trombone; James Parsons, Bass Trombone; Silvestre Solis, Euphonium; Scott Kesseler, Percussion; and Hans Aggarwal, Percussion. These students will participate and perform in a clinic and concert with the All-Region Band on January 19-20, 2018, at Santa Fe High School.
Those students who were named to the All-Region band and advancing to All-Area Band were: Simone Marshall, Flute; Caitlin Dobert, Contra-bass Clarinet; Tommy Gagnon, Tenor Sax; Curtis McElvany, Trumpet; Daniel O’Neal, Trumpet; Nathan Cloeter, Horn; Isaac Tepperman, Horn; Tito Martin, Euphonium; and Reona Nagata.
These students will travel to Clements High School on January 13, 2018, to audition for the All-State Band. They will also attend a clinic and perform with the All-Area Wind Ensemble on January 19-20, 2018, at Santa Fe High School.
