Brazoswood Student Attends Prestigious Medical Congress

Brazoswood sophomore Jessica Fuller recently received the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence for her outstanding performance, leadership potential and dedication to serving humanity through science, technology, engineering and math after attending the Congress of Future Medical Leaders this summer.

Jessica represented BISD and the State of Texas at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders held in Boston, Massachusetts. This honors-only program is dedicated to inspiring and motivating top high school students who aspire to careers in medicine, including medical research. The program continues to provide a path, plan, and resources to help students in reaching their goal. Speakers for the event included Nobel Prize winners, deans of medical schools and even new prodigies who are leading the future of medicine.

Not only does Jessica attend medical conferences, she is also a member of the Brazoswood Belles, Student Council, and Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA.) She said the most rewarding parts of the event was listening to Nobel-winning speakers and seeing the passion in the young prodigies. Jessica's feels this experience inspired her to see the potential in herself. She plans to become a Physician’s Assistant by attending Texas A & M for undergraduate studies and then Galveston for PA School.
